"...Speaking
to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing
and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always
for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ."
Ephesians
5:19-20
Music at Grace is an important part of worship.
It sets the tone for worship to take place and enhances the message
from the Word of God. We enjoy a diversiy of God-honoring church
music with the congregational singing of favorite hymns and praise
songs, with the church choir, and with saints presenting their sacrifices
of praise to the Lord. The choir has been under the skillful direction of Colbi Reese since January 2001.
Since Hebrew 13:15 instructs us to "let
us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is , the
fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name," each
saint at GBC is encouraged to worship God with their talents of
music and praise.
We encourage the children in music by means of
a children's choir and annual musical program. They also sing
joyfully in their Wednesday night service and with the adults in
services. The Lord has blessed us with talent and a desire
to praise Him, consequently, we schedule regular Sunday evening singspirations
performed by our saints.
This is in addition to our weekly
scheduling of singing and playing instruments in services. The most exciting part of music at Grace is the
diversity of styles presented by the saints. There are no
auditions or panels dictating who can and cannot get involved.
The Lord leads His saints and they sing and play joyfully to Him.
It is a marvelous example of the body of Christ working together
to worship Him.
